Already have a Polish bank account? Now it's time to learn how to pay conveniently and safely — without carrying cash. Poland has one of the most advanced mobile payment systems in Europe: BLIK.
What is BLIK?
BLIK is a free Polish mobile payment service available in your bank's mobile app. It works through a 6-digit code valid for 2 minutes.
With BLIK you can:
- Pay in physical stores (at the checkout counter or self-service terminal)
- Pay online (e-commerce stores, Allegro, streaming services)
- Withdraw cash from ATMs — without a bank card
- Send money to friends using their phone number
Which banks support BLIK?
BLIK is available in the mobile apps of all major Polish banks:
- PKO BP → IKO app
- Santander → Santander Mobile
- mBank → mBank Mobile
- Pekao → PeoPay
- Alior Bank → Alior Mobile
- Millennium → Millennium Mobile
Simply install your bank's app and activate BLIK in the settings.
How to pay with BLIK in a store?

- Go to the BLIK or Payments section
- A 6-digit code will appear — memorise it (valid for 2 minutes)
- At the checkout terminal, select BLIK (or tell the cashier)
- Enter the code on the terminal
- Confirm the payment in your banking app (button or PIN)
✅ Done! The payment is instant.
How to withdraw cash at an ATM with BLIK (no card needed)?

- Select Wypłata BLIK on the ATM screen
- Enter the amount
- Generate a code in your banking app
- Enter the code at the ATM
- Confirm in the app
Euronet and Planet Cash networks have the most BLIK-enabled ATMs across Poland.
How to send money via BLIK to a phone number?
You can send money to a friend without knowing their account number:
- In your banking app, select BLIK Transfer or Transfer to phone
- Enter the recipient's phone number (they must have BLIK activated)
- Enter the amount and confirm
- The recipient gets a notification and must accept the transfer within 2 minutes
Limit: usually up to 500 PLN per BLIK phone transfer.
Other payment methods in Poland
| Method | Where | Fee |
|---|---|---|
| BLIK | Stores, internet, ATMs, transfers | Free |
| Visa / Mastercard card | Stores, internet | Free |
| Google Pay / Apple Pay | NFC-enabled stores | Free |
| Bank transfer | Internet (ZUS, rent) | Free |

Security — important rules
🔐 Never share your BLIK code over the phone, SMS, or messenger. This is a common scam — someone calls pretending to be a friend or bank and asks for the code. A real bank will never ask for your BLIK code.
✅ Enable push notifications in your banking app to get alerts for every transaction.
✅ Set a strong PIN or biometrics (fingerprint) to protect your banking app.
✅ If you lose your phone — block your app access by calling the bank hotline immediately.
Contactless payments and QR codes
Other popular cashless methods in Poland:
- Contactless card payment (tap your card to the terminal) — under 100 PLN requires no PIN
- Google Pay / Apple Pay — add your card to your phone and pay by tapping
Where to get help?
- Bank hotline — number on the back of your card or in the app (available 24/7)
- Bank branch — staff often speak Ukrainian or English
- Nexflow HR — we can help with translation for bank visits
BLIK is a convenient and completely free tool for everyday payments in Poland. After a one-time setup in your banking app, you'll be able to pay for purchases, withdraw cash without a card, and send money to friends — all from your phone in a matter of seconds.
